WELCOME!

WELCOME! I used this blog to share our family's homeschooling thoughts and experiences. Our oldest child, EL, finished her formal education in May 2017, and we graduated our son, JJ, from High School in May 2021. I will leave this blog up for anyone who wishes to read our curriculum reviews or see what types of field trips and/or activities we participated in.

Outdoors Unlimited

Last Saturday morning, we went as a family to a local State park where they had a FREE program going on called Outdoors Unlimited. It is a Christian-based organization that gives kids a chance to aim at targets with a gun, a bow & arrow, a hatchet, and a slingshot. They also had fishing, turkey calling, and a free lunch. It was a fun family event, despite the horrendous heat, and the chigger bites we came home with! I think Coyote enjoyed this event the most out of all of us but, surprisingly, Road Runner really enjoyed shooting the guns (as long as she had her earplugs in during the shooting)! Here are a few pictures to share...

Coyote is shooting a muzzle loader at a target across the pond.

Daddy helped Road Runner line up her gun to the target,
then she pulled the trigger.

Daddy and Coyote both taking a turn at the hatchet throw.

Shooting a .22 caliber rifle.
They each got to keep a shell as a souvenir.

Taking aim at metal pie tins with a slingshot.

  1. Hi! I am stopping by from the MFW Blogroll and co-hosting the My Father's World Homeschool Highlights this school year with Kathi @ A Heart Like Water. This is where MFW families connect weekly, or as often as you like, to share what we are doing in our schools. The first one is Aug 25, the info is on my blog. I hope you join us!
